The SUP pros tell WideWorld their best spots for paddling in the surf

Benton Jones

A “bucket list” is a list of things you want to do before you “kick the bucket.” But what follows isn’t just any old bucket list; this is the wet dream ultimate list of paddle board surf spots. Starboard International, a paddleboard manufacturer HQ'd in Hong Kong, polled, surveyed, and prodded its SUP international team to come up with their top spots and why you should be riding them today. WideWorld is proud to introduce the sexiest waves on earth.

Dan Gavere (Canoe and Kayak magazine called him one of the most inspirational paddlers alive)

Pacific City, Oregon. There's a brew pub with free outdoor hot showers on the beach

Newport, Oregon. Three excellent spots, usually not too crowded

Cardiff Reef, San Diego. SUP accepted there and it’s a great wave

Santa Cruz, California. Great rights and some fun out of the way spots too.

North Shore, Hawaii. Because there are so many different spots to hit.

Connor Baxter (the 15-year-old pro rider who has gained a lot of respect around the SUP marathon circuits recently)

Lanes Maui, Hawaii. I like this spot because it is a left and it is super powerful.

Pier 1 Maui, Hawaii. This is a fun place to go to when it is big because it does not close out.

Outer Spreacks Maui, Hawaii. Nice barrow and it never gets crowded.

Queens Oahu, Hawaii. A fun, rippable wave.

Sunset Oahu, Hawaii. This is a challenging wave that pushes your limit.

Chicama, Peru. One of the longest lefts in the world – and I am goofy foot.

Shikoku, Japan. Everyone riding the waves is super friendly and there is no aggro.

Sean Poynter (According to SUP magazine, when it comes to free-surfing, this 21-year-old kid 'rips')
