The majority of data collected by the website comes from automatic sensors placed at various points around the motorway to monitor vehicle speeds. This enables Frixo.com to provide accurate, up-to-date reports faster than other mediums, such as radio. Speed ratings are updated every 3 minutes.

It's the kind of service that normally comes with traffic-reporting subscription services used by commercial vehicles. The key difference is that it's free to use.

The site’s information is also accessible using Frixo’s WAP service, meaning that you can foresee traffic jams, and avoid them, simply by using your mobile phone.
