Jumpers for dogs? Surely an extravagance?

Performance

Our initial doubts – not to mention that of WideWorld dog Sailor when we first put it on her – soon dissolved once we’d been out in the sub-zero snowy landscape for an hour. Equafleece is a brilliant item that’s already superseded any other dog wear we’ve tried.

At its most basic, it’s a fleecy jumper. It goes on pretty easily, with a slim neck opening and two sleeves: no extra fastenings or belts to struggle with. Despite that, it hugs the dog’s body just enough to stay on tight with no ruffling or tripping. And it performs just as promised: it's water-repellent and warm. Our tester is a dog whose body is close to the ground, but even after an hour romping through foot-deep snowdrifts she came back home warm and totally dry underneath. Taking it off was a cinch too – you can just pull the Equafleece straight off like a T-shirt and leave it to dry off, which is does in a matter of minutes thanks to the man-made fibres.

Verdict

It packs down small, can be washed on a normal cycle and the build quality seems to hold up to some pounding. In the cold snap we’ve been going through, we couldn’t recommend a better warmer for your little pal – and your lap – not to mention car upholstery – will thank you too. The Equafleece comes in all sizes for different dogs, and they even do one for horses.
