Does Snugpak's sleeper work hot and cold?

Product

Snugpak Travelpak Traveller Sleeping Bag.

Promise

A cool and comfortable night's sleep in even the most sweat-inducing conditions, thanks to a roll-down mosquito net and high-wicking Paratex lining. Best suited to temperatures around seven degrees.

Performance

This bag is so compact and lightweight - folding down to a teeny 28cm by 14cm and weighing a mere 700g - it might get lost in your pack. Much like the Tardis, however, appearances can be deceptive. The bag opens out to an impressive 2.2m by 1.65m - roomy enough for even the most strapping of campers. Better still, it can be fully unzipped into a blanket, making it ideal for in-tent use on balmy nights. The Travelsoft fibre filling lends it a feathery, almost luxurious quality but the Mico Diamond Fabric cover feels a little sticky at first. During the night it really comes into its own, keeping me warm despite temperatures dipping close to two degrees centigrade, the lowest recommended by the manufacturers.

Verdict

Not suitable for the claustrophobic - the built-in mosquito net takes some getting used to. But it's a small price to pay for a comfortable, bite-free night's sleep in warmer temperatures and perfect for sleeping outdoors in tropical climates.
