From cage diving with sharks to scuba in Scotland, he’s picked 34 choice trips that will tantalise the reader, all accompanied by some eye-popping photography and hard information. It’s refreshing to see such a book appeal to the basic diver too: every skill level is catered for, with some surprising opportunities opening up for even the beginner. There’s also a pretty ethical element in here too: fact boxes abound with advice on hot topics like eco-tourism and the debate around feeding sealife.

Verdict

A great way to open your eyes to the next stage in aquatic exploration. This is a real find for any open water diver and above who is looking for inspiration and a new challenge.
