Now iPod Touch users can get satnav on their gadget for one easy payment

Performance

G-Fi is the name of the hardware that enables the NavMii mapping software in this package. Put simply, the G-Fi is a small, pocket sized unit that communicates with the GPS network and transmits the data to your iPod touch. From there, the NavMii software does its work, guiding you in real time to your destination with neat touch-screen features. With 20 million iPod Touch users out there, there must be a fair few in need of directions.

Verdict

Clear mapping, and great turn-by-turn directions. But buying an extra box to carry around with you might be a bit of a backward step these days: the thing that’s really going for this is the fact that it’s a one-off payment. Once you own the G-Fi unit, you won’t ever be charged for using it.
