Performance

This product was tested on a snow trek across the frozen sea, and through knee-high powder. Dressed in warm down-jacket and hiking pants I packed the trousers in my backpack to pull on later. The outdoor industry has come a long way from ill-fitting waterproofs that are a nightmare to get on, and  the best thing about these trousers is the leg-long side zips and button system which enables you to put them only easily. When it gets warm during the day it's possible to open the zip and just use the buttons, letting the air cool you off. 

The waterproofs are lined with taffeta and mesh for greater comfort and breathability. After a long day of walking and wading my hiking pants, under the overtrousers, were dry and sweat free. The waterproofs have an elastic and drawcord waist which makes the pants fit nicely and again makes them handy to slip on/off.

The biggest flaw of these pants is the design. The pants only come in one colour – black, and despite the cool zips and comfortable drawcord waist they can make you look puffy.

Verdict

The pants cost £32.99. It's a great price for waterproofs, especially for a Sunday hiker who needs the gear once in a while.
