'Get close to each other while you get close to nature with this double hammock'. That's what the PR blurb says. The DoubleNest allows room for one, two or even three people - in fact, however you want to pack 400lbs. Plus, it squashes down to the size of a grapefruit (in the attached bag).

Performance

Surprisingly, it really does pack down to the size of a grapefruit. It's also really light, so if you're off the beaten track and there's a couple of trees to hang this baby, you've got a comfortable seat or bed - depending on how long you're staying. It's easy to hang - with the adjustable straps, both of which literally just loop round a couple of sturdy branches. There's various colours ranging from khaki and olive (if you're going commando) to powder blue or orange (if you're not). The only drawback is, if it's hot, you might not want to be squashed together in the first place. So just buy two.

Verdict

Its weight (very light), size (very small) and strength (very strong) make this an ideal and almost necessary addition to your camping trip or expedition. As long as there's trees, this amply replaces a pair of sleeping mats and leaves a big old space in your backpack. It's not too pricey either - therefore it gets the WideWorld thumbs up.
