Teva Itunda sandals
Promise
From dry to wet and dry again, with no rubbing – that’s the dream of the action sandal
Performance
We’re big fans of Teva footwear. It’s a brand that’s synonymous with well-designed, hardcore footwear that’s tweaked to learn from hard lessons. The Itunda, their new sandal for this summer, is no different: it’s deceptively simple to look at but hides a host of clever features.
They’re particularly great for the wet: a quick-drying upper and water-repellent topsole keeps your skin free from that damp rubbing that causes evil blisters in lesser sandals, while the midsole is moulded with the sole to create a more solid, seam-free design.
It’s this smoothness that really pays dividends: we gave these a thorough soaking and wore them while they dried, and there really wasn’t a hint of friction or rubbing against our milky-white, paper-thin winter foot skin.
Two adjustable straps hold your sandal on with a surprisingly firm grip, including the front strap, which tightens diagonally across and really makes a difference. An all-in-one rubber toecap means your toes are protected from rocks and stubbing even when you’re thrashing about in a murky river or pebbly beach. Special drainage holes mean your foot isn’t waterlogged after a dousing either.
Verdict
We reckon these look great – a worthy successor to the old Nike ACG. They’re also incredibly practical and will save you blisters – highly recommended.
