Chatham has progressed a classic with these new ultralight deck shoes. Weighing in at just 23g these premium leather lace-ups are like a pair of slippers. Much of the weight reduction is made from the spongy sole that further enhances the light-on-your-feet feeling, including embedded comfort pads in the heel.

Verdict

While the marine world maintains its reputation with expensive leather footwear, the Lancaster is an extremely comfortable shoe on both deck and street. Chatham offers further slipper-like luxury with the Lancaster’s cousin, the Trent slip-on.
