On May 29th, 2013, the greatest place to be celebrating Hillary and Tenzing’s historic summit of Everest has to be – well, apart from the summit itself – on a special trek around the foothills and surrounding mountains, with the majestic Everest in full view. Adventure specialists World Expeditions are putting on some special anniversary trekking packages that take you all the way to the 3,800m Thyangboche Monastery on the actual date of the summit.

The five treks range between 12 and 23 days to take in all levels of fitness and ability, from a short trek with views of Everest to a circuit course that takes walkers to the base of the mountain itself.

Prices start from £1,690 per person all inclusive except international flights. Check out www.worldexpeditions.co.uk for details.
